The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) is accepting applications from all U.S. colleges and universities to host a Norwegian Visiting Lecturer during the academic year. The award is for one semester and is open to disciplines with a contemporary focus on Public Policy, Conflict Resolution, Environmental Studies, Multiculturalism, or Healthcare.
The ASF Norwegian Visiting Lecturer receives a $20,000 teaching/research stipend and an additional $5,000 travel stipend for lecture appearances outside the host institution.

Responsibilities of Host Institution |
- The host institution is responsible for selecting the lecturer (i.e., ASF cannot assist in establishing contacts) and arranging teaching appointments, public presentations, and housing
- The host institution is expected to provide support complementing the $20,000 stipend. Additional support may be in the form of subsidized faculty housing, international travel and insurance expense, office and computer use, or additional stipend support

Responsibilities of the Visiting Lecturer |
- The Visiting Lecturer is expected to teach one course (undergraduate or graduate level) and perform modest public activities (lectures, etc.) for which s/he will receive $20,000
- The Visiting Lecturer is expected to accept invitations to visit other academic institutions or conferences for which s/he will have $5,000 available in travel funds
